The training course provided by the Institute is designed to empower graduates serve the community through primary health care, ongoing education programs and working alongside other therapists in various clinical settings. Yifan graduated from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China with Bachelor and Master degrees in Traditional Chinese Medicine. He was appointed doctor and lecturer of the affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has over 25 years clinical experience. He has been teaching at the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine since 1990, and took part in the first Australian clinical trial using Chinese herbs to treat Hepatitis C at John Hunter hospital.

Harry has been involved in and practicing Chinese medicine since 1983. A graduate from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, he started as a clinical supervisor and practitioner in the departments of acupuncture, internal medicine, emergency medicine. He oversaw many intern students from the United States of America during this time. In 1993 Harry started private practice in Australia, in the suburbs of Crows Nest and Chatswood. Harry completed his Masters degree in the Herbal Medicine at the University of Sydney.

Daniel graduated from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a Bachelor Degree in Traditional Chinese medicine. He has over 20 years of clincal experience, over 15 years of teaching experience and is currently a respected acupuncturist practicing in Sydney, Australia.

Director of Studies, Lecturer in Gynaecology and Clinical Supervisor Jian Jiang has been in clinical practice since 1986. Prior to coming to Australia she worked in the Department of Internal Medicine at the Huang Shi Hospital of TCM, following this she worked as a specialist in the Department of Gynaecology at the Guang An Men Hospital, Beijing. Jian has been the author of numerous articles on Gynaecological conditions and their treatment by TCM. On arriving in Australia, Jian began private practice at Bondi Junction and currently Jian is practicing at her own clinic in Sydney. John Ye graduated from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a Bachelors Degree. He has been an attending physician at the Haikou City Public Hospital, where he specialised in Acupuncture. In 2004, John graduated from Sydney University with a Masters in Herbal Medicine from the faculty of pharmacy. He has been in private practice in Sydney, since 1998. Miriam Camara M.Hth.Sc. Miriam has been lecturing in Acupuncture and related subjects since 1984 and has been in clinical practice since 1982. She has specific interests in the treatment of Musculoskeletal / Sports Injuries and Infertility and applies acupuncture in her practices situated in Woollahra and the Sports Clinic at the University of Sydney. Miriam has been a part of the development of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in Australia, and has also expanded her teaching experience as a guest lecturer for the Medical Institute of Acupuncture, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Rodd Sanchez is a graduate of the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He has over 11 years of experience in nursing, with a focus of caring for elderly, paediatric, disabled and psychological patients. Rodd completed his China hospital internship at the Anhui University of Chinese Medicine, focusing on general practice, muscular disorders, and internal medicine. He has a particular interest in Chinese dietary therapies and facial rejuvenation acupuncture. Currently Rodd is completing his Masters Degree in TCM at the University of Western Sydney and is in private practice as clinical director at the Macquarie St. Clinic of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine. Lecturer in Acupuncture, Chinese Medical Theory and Diagnostics, Clinical Supervisor David White received his undergraduate qualifications from the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SITCM) and the An Hui University of Chinese Medicine (China). He continued his studies obtaining a Graduate Diploma and Masters Degree in Acupuncture (focusing on Neurophysiology) from RMIT University, Melbourne. David’s interests lie in the application of classical methods and theory, Buddho-Daoist philosophy, and the integration of traditional Chinese medical techniques and modern acupuncture methodologies in clinical practice. He is the president of the Paraplegia & Hemiplegia Acupuncture Society (PHAS) and Clinical Director of the Macquarie St. Clinic of Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine. Charles Xu Ph.D. (Guangzhou), M.TCM (Hubei), B.TCM (Hu Bei)
Charles holds a Bachelors and Masters Degree in TCM from the Hu Bei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine ( China). For his Masters he undertook research into TCM and orthopaedics. In 1998, Charles enrolled in the PhD program at Guangzhou University, where he graduated in 2001. Charles has held many official positions in China, including being an associate professor of TCM. 中医在澳洲近十多年来发展很快,以其独特的治疗方法和临床疗效,已经受到澳州主流医学的重视。已经有大学,政府医院,和各科研机构,及其政府拨专款进行中医药的教学和研究。
人们对保健治病的认识也已经发生变化,有越来越多的西人看病首选中医。由于公众的需求,学习中医针灸的西人越来越多。而华人学中医更是得天独厚。具有22年历史的悉尼中医学院在澳洲中医药发展和推广中起到了重要的作用。
悉尼中医学院前身为纽省自然疗法学院,由一批在中国学习中医针灸的澳洲西人在1986年创办。90年代由于大批中国大陆来的中医师加入教师队伍,提高了教育质量,壮大了学院。数百名西人毕业生已经遍布澳洲各州,开业中医针灸诊所。2000年以后,学院增设中英双语课程,许多华人学生就读,目前也已有数百人毕业并在各地开设诊所。
学院创始人之一本茨森先生,早期曾任院长,后在西悉尼大学完成博士学位,其博士研究项目为中医药治疗肠道激惹症的临床研究,论文发表在国际第一流的西医杂志 – 美国医学会杂志,为西医顶级杂志第一篇中医论文,目前在西悉尼大学和利物浦医院领导中医药研究。前任院长梁利明博士,在墨尔本皇家理工大学中医系完成中医治疗癌症的研究课题,论文发表在欧洲《癌症》医学期刊,在国际上有一定影响。现任院长杨伊凡中医师,也曾在1995年与澳洲政府医院合作,进行中药治疗丙型肝炎的临床研究,开创了西方国家政府医院使用中药的先例。本院资深讲师胡国让博士,在悉尼大学和Concord 医院做中医药治疗过敏性疾病和癌症治疗的临床研究,疗效显著,获得了巨大的成果,论文发表在国际骨矿杂志,受到澳州西医同行的肯定,科研成果已经转化为澳大利亚深受欢迎的市场产品。悉尼中医学院的学术水平,居于澳洲中医药界的前列。
本院中医针灸毕业生,已经成为澳大利亚中医药社区服务的主力军。主要是经营个体诊所。据调查报告,澳大利亚中医药市场已形成数亿规模的产业,并且仍在每年快速增长。
