This policy outlines the mechanism by which teaching staff (including full-time, part-time and sessional staff) will make themselves available to assist students with academic matters outside scheduled class times.
SITCM has designed this policy to detail the rules for meeting course progression requirements and to define the grounds for exclusion of a student due to lack of satisfactory progress. The academic achievement of each student will be monitored so that students who are determined to be ‘at risk’ can be provided with advice and support to ensure successful course completion whenever possible.
If a student withdraws from a unit of study after the census date for that unit of study, or has been unable to successfully complete a unit of study, and believes this was due to special circumstances then the student may apply to have their FEE-HELP balance re-credited for the affected units of study.
Persons seeking to enrol in a higher education course with SITCM are required to satisfy the general admission requirements and English language requirements, meet additional selection criteria, and be selected in competition with other eligible applicants.
In addition, International students must be 18 years of age or over at the time that they commence the course for which they have applied.
