1PM – 3PM: Maximising Effectiveness in Teaching and Learning Part 2:
                        Effective Assessment Marking and Feedback
Suitable for: Academic staff (2 CPD Points)

Overview Part 1 of the ‘Maximising Effectiveness in Teaching and Learning’ workshop explored the value of learning outcomes and designing assessments that enhance learning.
Using practical examples, this workshop will close the assessment loop by looking at ways to ensure assessment reliability and fairness using marking guides and moderation activities, and delivering prompt and useful feedback that enhance student learning.

Presenter Priscilla Guo BPsych (Hons)
Priscilla Guo has been working in quality assurance in SITCM since 2008 and has particular expertise in the development, interpretation and application of academic policies and procedures for best practice. Priscilla has also lectured and tutored in SITCM and the University of New South Wales.

3PM – 5PM: Literature Review
Suitable for: Academic staff (2 CPD Points) and students

Overview This workshop will cover the concept of literature review, and in particular the process of planning, researching, and drafting a review using international guidelines. A key focus of this workshop is to address appraising literature critically, interpreting information in their context, and writing up a review. Practical guides in publishing literature reviews will also be introduced.

Presenter Dr Kevin Yin MBBS, MPH (Hons), PhD
Dr Kevin Yin is the technical lead of national working groups which provides technical support for immunisation policy development in Australia. Kevin regularly lectures in both SITCM and the University of Sydney. He has received formal training in conducting literature reviews from the Cochrane Collaboration and, since 2012, has published 11 literature reviews in leading medical journals. In addition to his academic qualifications, Kevin has also completed advanced trainings in vaccinology at the University of Geneva Switzerland and Fondation Mérieux France in 2013, and in infectious disease modelling at Imperial College London & St. Mary Hospital UK in 2015.
