Online Databases

This page details the journal databases that all SITCM students can access.

If you need access to an article whose full text is not freely available through one of these databases, please submit a completed Application for Library Purchase or Full Text Access to Journal Article Form to the Librarian (library@sitcm.edu.au). The Librarian will notify you of the outcome of the application within five days.

EBSCO DATABASE

EBSCO (click here) is a leading global database of research journals.

WANFANG DATABASE

Wanfang (click here) is a leading Chinese database of research journals.
After logging in, go to ‘Journal Navigation’ > Medical and Health (医药卫生) > Chinese Medicine (中国医学), which includes 135 subscribed journals.

SITCM’s subscription gives students access to 14 globally renowned TCM journals, all in English. You can access the journal links via the Library Hub:

• Traditional Chinese Medicine Literature Reviews: Scientific Literary review on TM, Compiled by AQTN
• Herbs at a Glance: Herbs at a Glance is a series of brief fact sheets that provide basic information about specific herbs or botanicals.
• Medicinal Plant Images Database:  School of Chinese Medicine, Hong Kong Baptist University.
• Chinese Medicine Specimen Database:  School of Chinese Medicine, Hong Kong Baptist University.
• The traditional Chinese medicine systems pharmacology database: Center for Bioinformatics, Northwest University, China.
• Database of Traditional Chinese Medicine on Immuno-Oncology: GMH Group at Guangdong Institute of Microbiology and TCMNM Group at Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine.
• Traditional Chinese Medicine Information Database: Bioinformatics & Drug Design (BIDD) group in the Department of Pharmacy, National University of Singapore.
• Free Books for Doctors: Free Books for Doctors promotes free access to medical books. See a list of 650 titles on the sidebar.
• The National Academies Press: Books or chapters can be downloaded in PDF format for free, while some books are available for purchase.
